There was no brief. The DualSense is a controller everyone has already seen, and that is exactly what made it useful: there is nothing left to introduce, so the only thing left to solve is how to look at it.

The rule was to take everything away. No hand holding it, no desk, no room, no use. A plane of colour and the object floating inside it. If anything is going to hold the image up, it will have to be the material.

The two finishes are the exercise: the same textured black body, first against matte white and then against pink. White leaves it a technical object; pink moves it somewhere else, closer to something desirable than to a peripheral.

The macro closes the series where the object actually resolves: the grain of the sticks, the raised logo, the blue light.
